About

Inspired from a legacy of our family owned coffee business that brews the traditional native coffee

In the year 1940, Sixto Nonoy ‘Pedring ‘ Alloso Chua Sr., and his siblings owned a shoe factory located at corner De Leon and Quezon Sts., and the she store was located at the Iloilo Central Market, right in the same spot where Glory’s Cafe is now located. Our family-owned grocery store was next to Glory’s cafe and it was being managed by the younger sister of my great grandfather’s wife, Gloria Serania. Sixto “Nonoy” Pedring then decided to convert the STECCO Store an grocery to Glory’s Cafeteria and Carinderia in 1948, serving the very first native coffee in Iloilo using our traditional method. The Cafeteria opens as early as 2am and closes at 11 pm. They cater to a variety of customers from meat butchers, vegetable vendors, jeepney drivers, professionals, high ranking policemen and even to popular politicians back in the day. In 1979, a big fire caught Iloilo Central Market, most stalls were burned, the tenants were relocated and the store sizes where reduced. But Glory’s Cafe was spared from the fire, and was passed from one generation to another. Until now, Glory’s Cafe still stands on the same spot at the Iloilo Central Market; Serving the Ilonggo people the taste of uniquely blended coffee. Our new and improved coffee shop that serves meals, desserts, hot & cold drinks is located at Sayson Y Avanceña 1927 Heritage House, Quezon St., Villa Arevalo, Iloilo City
