The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Iloilo Chapter, Inc. (PCCI Iloilo) proudly celebrates another milestone as its Corporate Secretary and Head of the Business Innovation & Startups Sector, Jose Francisco “Francis” Gerona, was honored with the Rainmaker Award at the Western Visayas Startup Awards 2025.

Francis received the award on September 20, 2025, at Festive Walk Mall, Iloilo City, during the Innovation Awards Ceremony. The Rainmaker Award is bestowed on an individual who has made a lasting impact on the startup ecosystem through exceptional support, mentorship, and contributions to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. It recognizes leaders whose dedication has significantly advanced the growth and success of startups within their community or industry.

Francis’s commitment to startups goes back nearly a decade. As early as 2015, during his time with the Global Shapers Iloilo, he was already advocating for innovation and empowering young entrepreneurs. His work since then has spanned mentorship, advocacy, and the creation of initiatives that help shape a vibrant and collaborative ecosystem.

At PCCI Iloilo, Francis continues to play a vital role in building programs like INSYNC, which connect startups with opportunities, networks, and policies that help them thrive. His recognition as Rainmaker affirms not only his individual dedication but also the chamber’s collective vision of enabling innovation-driven growth for Western Visayas.
